Bachelor of Design in Architecture
University of Minnesota

These images represent a curated gallery of work from the University of Minnesota's Architecture BDA program. The studios shown below include a Metals Studio with a final screen design to allow a concealed space for studying.  A design for a Nature Center that gives a purpose to an abandoned Granary Corridor. A Textile Studio that used the investigation of curves to create a shelter on a nature path. Then I explored Set Design through the magical movie "La La Land". Finally, an Interface Studio explored textile and metal to create a pavilion.

Projects

Selected works from Undergraduate Studios in the Architecture program at the University of Minnesota College of Design.

Study Screen

In this project, I explored how to create a screening device built out of metal. This project was a part of an architectural studio, where the primary focus of the class was screening devices. The final design creates a shaded area in a University building and a section of the design was built to show how the screen works.

The Watchtower

The Watchtower looks at an abandoned Granary site and delves into how to bring life back into this space. The final deliverable creates a new building on the site that is used as a nature and education center.

Curved Comfort

This project came out of a unique semester long studio with a focus on curves and organic shapes. The design started with simple curve that was brought through several iterations to create a fabric, a lamp, a sculpture, and a chair.

Light Pavilion

The Light Pavilion is a project from an Interface architecture studio. The final pavilion acts as an interface between a person and the sun, which creates an ever changing, interactive pavilion.

La La Layout

This work is from a Set Design studio, where each student created a design for three acts of a play. This design explores three acts from an adapted version of the movie "La La Land".
